It takes a special talent to earn a power conference scholarship offer as an Eight-Man football player.
Fremont-Mills sophomore Seth Malcom unofficially visited Nebraska with his family Wednesday. After watching the Huskers practice, he received an offer from NU.
“My visit to Nebraska was amazing,” Malcom said. “I learned a lot about their football program and their coaching staff.”
Malcom enjoyed his time in Lincoln. He spent the day watching spring practice, met with the coaches and toured all of the facilities.
“The things that stood out to me about Nebraska are that the coaches were very personable,” he said. “They were easy to have a conversation with and the facilities were outstanding.”
The 6-foot-3, 185-pound athlete is being recruited as a middle linebacker by Nebraska, Iowa State and Iowa. He received an offer from Iowa State on March 9.
“I had a great visit to Iowa State,” he said. “I formed great relationships with all the coaches in Ames.
Malcom attended junior day at Iowa on March 2.
“Their facilities are amazing,” he said of his visit to Iowa. “I was especially excited to see the indoor practice facility and weight room, as I have never seen anything of that magnitude.”
The recruiting process is just beginning for Malcom, and he is not ready to make a decision.
“Right now, I am looking at all possibilities for my future.”
