Allgood Honored With Downtown Procession

NEBRASKA CITY – Longtime Nebraska City Police Officer Marty Allgood was honored Monday with a celebration of life at the Nebraska City High School gymnasium and a procession down Central Avenue.

Allgood was a Nebraska City police officer from 1967 to 1978 and 1982 to 2008.

 

Music at the celebration of life was by his daughter, Carey Allgood. Except for Ring of Fire, which was by Johnny Cash.

Pallbearers were current Nebraska  City police officers Dave Lacy, Lonnie Neeman, Dana Schebaum, Jeff Lant and Rick Beutzer, as well as former officers Kent Roumpf and Stan Ohnmacht.

Honorary pallbearers were Chick Connell, Bill Creek, Wes Garlipp, Pat Chaney, Don Martin, Red Reeves, Otoe County Sheriff’s Office, Nebraska  City Fire and Rescue and Nebraska City police.

The procession went through downtown on its way to burial at Wyuka Cemetery.
