Arbor Day Parade Attracts Sunny Day Crowd

NEBRASKA CITY–Sunny skies and welcoming crowds along Central Avenue greeted the participants in the 2018 Arbor Day Parade. Forty-four entries took part in this year’s event.

Arbor Day Farm won the best use of theme award with its entry,  “Trees Color Our World.” Arbor Day honorees Steve Stukenholtz and Jack Haupt were guests of honor on a float. The Nebraska  City High School and Middle Schools bands provided the musical back beat to the event.

The parade’s final entry was the teams who were to compete in the first Arbor Day bed races, which took place immediately after the parade’s conclusion.
