Beatrice Baseball Season Comes to an End in the District Finals

BLAIR – The Beatrice Orangemen fell one game short of the state tournament after running into Blair in the B-3 District Finals.

The #2 Bears scored 13 runs in the third and fourth innings before defeating the Orangemen, 14-1, in five innings.

Jacob Pinkerton scored the lone run in the top of the third inning to tie the game at one for Beatrice.

The Bears would then score seven runs in the bottom of the third and six in the bottom of the fourth to get the win via mercy rule. This was in big part due to six Beatrice errors in the game.

Jake MacDonald threw all five innings for Blair, giving up only two hits and striking out 10.

Brandel Riekenberg and Jacob Adams each had a hit for Beatrice in the game.

Caleb Wallman got the start on the mound. He would pitch 2 1/3 innings and give up eight runs, though only one run was earned.

The Orangemen’s season comes to an end with a 9-12 record.
