Before First Day, Teachers Visit Nebraska City Businesses

NEBRASKA CITY – There was a flurry of activities leading up to today’s first day of classes at Nebraska City.

Superintendent Jeff Edwards said teachers started last Friday with an in-service and a pancake breakfast sponsored by the Jaycees.

The teachers also participated in a community outreach.

Edwards: “Friday we did something a little different, to where we split all of our staff into groups and went to businesses in Nebraska City. One of the goals we have this year is building business partnerships and telling our story and getting our staff out into the businesses and finding out what’s in Nebraska City.”

He said teachers visited 29 different businesses and plan for more visits during the school year.
