Chief Lacy Presented Patriot Award

NEBRASKA CITY – Bruce Wood of the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve presented Nebraska City Police Chief Dave Lacy with the Patriot Award at Monday night’s city council meeting.

The award recognizes support to Sgt.  Chris Richardson, who has served over 15 years with  the military. Chief Lacy said it is a team effort.

Lacy: “It is those officers that come in. Maybe they change schedules, maybe they work some overtime. They help fill in. I hope Chris has never heard a complaint, because I think the officers have respect for the military. They appreciate what he does not only on a national level but for us, his fellow officers.”

Ofc. Richardson also nominated  Nebraska City for the Freedom Award, as a community that supports the Armed Forces. The city advanced to the top 149 semi-finalists out of 2,300 nationally.

Sgt. Richardson, who was stationed overseas in 2003,  attributes his ability to train and excel for military service to the support of his fellow police officers and his family.
