Chili Contest Raises $600 For Syracuse Pool Improvements

SYRACUSE – Anthony Hensley of B & J’s bar brought home first place in the 7th annual chili cook-off in Syracuse with a score of 41 out of 60 points.

The event raised $604 toward the construction of a new bath house at the Syracuse Aquatic Center.

Judges  Kristi Skiles, Larissa Riekman, Sheila Shramek,  Katy Biehl, Josh Medeiros and Troy Whitehead  were given instructions of tasting and rating each of the 12 chili entries from 1 to 10.

Second place went to Dan Masters of Syracuse with a score of 40 and third place with 39 points went to Katy Biehl of Syracuse.

Patty Buchholz presented each winner with a certificate and Anthony and Rosie Hensley of B & J’s bar awarded gift cards to the winners

Approximately 120 people participated in the fundraiser. They were able to sample each chili and cornbread donated by  Amy Grahm and Liza Masters.  Daylight Donuts donated rolls.
