City Approves Loan For Further Improvements Near Viaduct

NEBRASKA CITY- The Nebraska City City Council approved a $60,000 loan to River City Investments for further development of the former Morton House Kitchens property near the 11th Street viaduct.

Brad Maybee told the city council the plan is to continue cleaning up the area and get more of the buildings rented out.

Dan Mauk of Nebraska City Area EDC said a grant application was denied, but the advisory committee approved a loan unanimously.

He said the work that Maybe has done so far has been well received by the community and has resulted in several businesses operating out of the buildings. He said planned improvements include windows and parking lot.
