PLATTSMOUTH – The Plattsmouth volleyball team hosted Nebraska City and Syracuse in a triangular at Plattsmouth High School on Tuesday night. The Rockets came out on top with a 2-0 record, while the Blue Devils finished 1-1 and the Pioneers at 0-2.
In the first match, Syracuse trailed Plattsmouth, 23-14, late in the first set, but battled back to take set one by a score of 26-24. Syracuse won the second set, 25-17, to win the match 2-0.
The Rockets swept Nebraska City in the second match, 25-5, 25-11.
Nebraska City and Plattsmouth squared off in the final match of the night. Plattsmouth won the back-and-forth match, 25-20, 25-21. Nebraska City jumped out to a 6-0 lead in the first set and a 7-1 advantage in the second set, but Plattsmouth battled back to take the match, 2-0.
After a pair of victories, Class C1 #10 Syracuse moved to 7-0 on the season and will play Platteview on Thursday.
Plattsmouth moves to 5-4 and will face Ralston at home on Thursday.
Nebraska City falls to 3-6 and host Falls City and Auburn in a triangular on Thursday.
