FALLS CITY – The Falls City City Council approved Mayor Shawna Bindle’s appointment of Amber Holle to the city council on Monday.
Holle: “I just really love this town and I want to continue to help it grow and I’m excited to be on the council.”
Holle plans to continue her position as executive director of the Falls City Chamber of Commerce, as well as represent Ward 1 to encourage growth of the city and encourage young families.
Holle: “I’m excited because I think they can both benefit from working together. We already do work together a lot but my role there will just help my role on the city council and my role on the city council will help me in my role as director of the chamber.”
Holle said she is surprised to see population decline in a city with great schools, library, aquatic park and airport. In a letter to Mayor Bindle, Holle said housing is a key issue to drawing people back to Falls City.
Holle: “I’m here to serve as a voice for my ward and lend a helping hand in whatever means I can to aid Falls City in becoming the best place to live, work and play.
“My position as Executive Director of the Falls City Area Chamber of Commerce should impose very limited conflicts of interest. Should any conflicts arise or during any requests I make to the council, I would abstain from voting. I have my board of directors’ approval to hold a seat on the council as they believe neither position would interfere with the other.
