Flood Waters Encroaching On Highway 2 Near Percival

NEBRASKA CITY – Flood warnings continue today for the Missouri River from Nebraska City to Rulo, but warnings for major flooding at the Tarkio River near Fairfax, Mo., have eased.

The Tarkio River crested at about five feet below projections and is dropping today after reaching the moderate flood category.

The Interstate 29 exit for Thurman, Iowa, was closed Tuesday when flood waters went over both the exit and entrance ramps.

Many Local roads in Iowa east of Nebraska City have water over them. Water has reached the Highway 2 shoulder.

Road crews have one of the eastbound lanes closed this morning.

Missouri River flooding is worst Thursday at Rulo, where water crested at 23.3 feet, about six feet above flood stage.
