MARYSVILLE – As you can see from the above video, the icy conditions are making travel on local roadways very difficult in northern Kansas and southern Nebraska.
News Channel Nebraska’s Elise Waller and Jay Hannah were driving between 5 to 10 mph in Marysville, KS, which has already seen freezing rain for the past couple of hours. You see them try to stop at an intersection, slide, and then struggle to turn left. Roadways will continue to pick up additional freezing rain throughout the day as the storm will move north further into southeast Nebraska and eventually into central and northeast Nebraska.
Ice accumulations of up to a half-inch have already been reported throughout parts of southern and central Kansas.
