Johnson-Brock off to their best start in 23 years

PLYMOUTH, Neb. – Johnson-Brock junior Jayse Koehler finished with 11 points and 8 rebounds, and the Eagles improved to 5-0 with a 35-32 win over Tri County Friday night at Tri County High School.

Junior Fallon Stutheit chipped in 9 points, 3 rebounds and 3 blocked shots.

Johnson-Brock is off to their best start since the 1993-1994 season when they finished as the Class C2 runner-up.

The Trojans led most of the game and the Eagles didn’t take their first lead until the third quarter.

Seniors Kailey Weichel  and Shayna Lijewski led Tri County with 10 points a piece.

Meanwhile in the boys game, Johnson-Brock placed four players in double-figure scoring and ran away with a, 67-43, victory over Tri County.

Senior Ben Bohling had a game-high 16 points and 7 rebounds. Junior Cole Fossenbarger added 14, and sophomore Ty Hahn and freshman Kaden Glynn each had 11.

Trojan senior Riley Knust finished with 13 points, while freshman Cole Siems scored 10.

The Johnson-Brock boys basketball team also remains unbeaten at 4-0. Both the girls and boys teams will host Lourdes Central Catholic on Saturday night in Johnson. The boys game will feature the #1 (Nebraska City Lourdes) and #3 (Johnson-Brock) teams in Class D1.

Both Tri County teams drop to 4-2 and will travel to Superior on Saturday.
