Keep Nebraska City Beautiful Shines At AppleJack

NEBRASKA CITY – The Keep Nebraska City Beautful organization declared the 50th annual AppleJack Festival this fall a success for litter quitters.

Brittany Szydelko called the clean up a big accomplishments.

Szydelko: “We were able to get 53 volunteers. They helped before and after AppleJack to clean up around town. They cleaned parks, the city’s east and north entrances and some of the downtown area.”

Others carried the Keep Nebraska City Beautiful banner in the parade and handed out 700 car litter bags.

Szydelko gave a quarterly report to the city council, highlighting the organization’s mission.

Szydelko: “We created three focus area teams. One is litter, the other is recycle and the other is beautify.”

She said Keep Nebraska City Beautiful is working with teacher Jason McNeely to launch an Internet presence.
