Leadership Nebraska City Values Cultural Diversity

We are interested in what they view as issues

- Johnson

NEBRASKA CITY – Jeremy Johnson updated Rotarians Wednesday on the Leadership Nebraska City program, including a focus on cultural diversity.

Jordan Feyerherm of the Center for Rural Affairs met with Leadership Class advisors for individual cultural assessments with the idea of maximizing  the city’s leadership resources by including cultural diversity.

Johnson: “To be honest we’re looking for all types of individuals. We want the whole community to be included in this organization and the community as a whole.”

The leadership program has had over 115 graduates in 14 years, but Johnson said he is not aware of many of them being Hispanic leaders.

Johnson: “We feel that area is not properly represented. We are interested in what they view as issues and we want to better help them, you known, in their lives, as well.”

Johnson, who works as office manager for VanderVeen and Goracke CPAs,  serves on the advisory committee with eight others.
