PERCIVAL – Levee districts along the Missouri and Nishnabotna rivers have scheduled a public stakeholders meeting Tuesday, March 20, at the Percival Fire Hall at 5 p.m.
Levee sponsors will present on progress and maintenance of the federal levee system and discuss needs for emergency planning and structure improvements.
US Army Corps of Engineers will be available for a 6 p.m. meeting regarding “farm encroachment.”
There will be a presentation regarding the reasoning for keeping all farming 15 feet away from the levee toe.
The levee sponsors are associated with L-575, a levee that breached in 2011 contributing to “bluff-to-bluff” flooding of the Missouri River.
