FALLS CITY – After filling in a year on a vacant seat, Lyndsay Maahs has filed for election to the Dawson Village Board.
Maahs and her husband moved to the village of 200 people from Lincoln about a year ago because they wanted the small-town lifestyle for themselves and their seven children.
She says she likes being involved in the town’s decision-making.
Maahs: “Right now the board is really working on improving Dawson and making it a family-friendly place.”
Her seat is one of three up for election this year. Maahs said she made the right decision to move to Dawson.
Maahs: “It is a good place to raise a family. We’ve had several families with children move into town recently, which is good. We’ve been doing improvements on the village park and just general improvements with houses and property. It’s a nice small town full of really nice people.”
Also filing for re-election is Richardson County surveyor Robert Tichy. He is seeking the Democratic nomination.
