NEBRASKA CITY – Multiple agencies are reporting vehicles off the road and stuck in snow.
Emergency crews had the Kearney Hill intersection of Sixth Street and 12th Corso blocked off after a four or five-car-pile up.
A witness said he pulled over his truck in an attempt to pull a motorist out of snow, when additional cars slid into them both.
Police cars and fire trucks responding had trouble with traction. Firefighters were scooping sand and gravel out of pickup with a plow to improve traction for a fire engine.
The National Weather Service office in Omaha/Valley issued a winter weather advisory for southeast Nebraska, southwest Iowa and northwest Missouri Saturday morning.
Weather officials say the region could see up to two more inches of snow today.
The advisory is in effect until midnight tonight and the NWS is warning drivers to plan on slippery road conditions.
