Over 60 teams visit Chadron for CSC Hoop Shoot

CHADRON, NE – (KCSR / KBPY Radio) – 62 basketball teams were in Chadron over the weekend for the annual Chadron State College Hoop Shoot.

The tournament is for kids in 4th through 8th grades from Nebraska, South Dakota, Wyoming and Colorado.

The tournament is a fundraiser for the Chadron State College men’s and women’s basketball programs, and works as an early recruiting tool, giving students and their parents an opportunity to see the campus.

Games were played at several locations on CSC’s campus, as well as the middle and high school gyms in Chadron Schools.

Tournament co-director Janet Raymer says the total number of teams was set at 62, which is down from last year’s 75. She says some teams canceled due to weather events in their area.
