Palmyra Farmer Placed On Probation, Protection Orders Sought

NEBRASKA CITY – District Judge Julie Smith ruled 76-year-old Glenn Royal competent to enter a plea and placed him on two years of probation for misdemeanor assault.

Royal was arrested after a neighbor, who was building a house near Royal’s farm, told deputies Royal pointed a rifle at him.

As part of his probation, Royal was ordered to have no contact with his neighbor James Beecham, who filed a protection order against Royal on the day of sentencing.

Cody Beecham, another neighbor, has also filed for a protection order. The men claim that Royal purposefully damaged rock they placed to establish a road to their property.
