PERU – The Auburn football team started fast in a 51-0 win over Lincoln Christian Friday night at the Oak Bowl on the campus of Peru State College.

The game was moved to Peru because of the expected sloppy field conditions on the natural grass at Auburn High School.

Drew Dixon and Baily Darnell scored a combined 22 points in the first quarter.

After the defense stopped the Crusaders on the one-yard line, the Bulldogs drove the ball 99 yards prior to halftime to take a 29-0 lead at the break.

Auburn improves to 7-1 this season and travels to Falls City on Thursday to play the Tigers. The game will air live on Today’s Best Country, B103 (103.1 FM, b103.fm and ncnsportsnow.com).

Lincoln Christian drops to 0-8 and hosts Nebraska City next Friday on Otoe County Country (KNCY 1600 AM, 105.5 FM, ncn21.com and ncnsportsnow.com).
