Sadie Hurdles To Victory At Fremont County Dog Show

SIDNEY – Summer Maher of Shenandoah showed Fremont County’s top dog on Thursday.

The 18-month-old blue heeler and Australian shepherd mix named Sadie received purple in the obedience competition. Dogs were walked in a figure 8 and asked to stay for one minute.

In the agility course, Sadie hurdled obstacles and darted into  the tunnel.

Her competition, a German shorthair shown by Lana Alley, preferred to step over the obstacle.

Show judge Cindy Smith of Adel, Iowa, took advantage of the heat by having the dogs lay down for the “stay” command.

Ashley Henneman and Lillian Howe won showmanship awards.
