Scottsbluff seeking grant to fund improvements at baseball park

SCOTTSBLUFF, NE (Omaha World-Herald News Service) – A panhandle city is looking for money from the state to help fix up their town baseball fields.

The City of Scottsbluff and Club 23 are asking the Department of Economic Development for over $600,000 to help update the 40-year old club baseball park.

Officials with the 23 Club told the Scottsbluff City Council this week that the current complex is full of safety hazards and completely lacks handicap accessibility.

If the grant is approved it would help pay down the 1.3 million dollar price tag that has been estimated for the improvements at the park.
