Syracuse snaps three-game losing streak vs. Nebraska City
Trevor Brinkman struck out six batters in Syracuse's 10-6 win over Nebraska City Friday.

NEBRASKA CITY – The Syracuse American Legion Baseball team tallied two crooked number innings and kept their unbeaten record with a 10-6 win over Nebraska City Friday night at Clemmy Holmes Field.

The Post 100 Seniors (3-0) scored four runs in the second inning led by Trevor Brinkman’s single that scored two runs and an RBI double from Christian Frederick. They added four more runs in the sixth inning on a wild pitch and two consecutive Post 8 errors. Sam Goering also added an RBI double.

Brinkman finished 3-5 with two RBI’s and a run scored. He also earned the win on the mound, throwing five innings, giving up four runs on six hits, striking out six and walking five.

Nebraska City left 10 runners on base and have stranded 21 total base runners the last two games. They committed six errors in their home opener.

Ethan Seyler was tabbed with the loss. He threw 5 2/3 innings, giving up nine runs on 12 hits and striking out six.

Jace Becker doubled twice and scored twice as the Post 8 Seniors fell to 0-4 to begin the summer season. They will host Crete on Tuesday at 8 p.m. The game will air live on KNCY 1600 AM, 105.5 FM and
