Two Police Officers Take Oath At Nebraska City

NEBRASKA CITY – Nebraska City Mayor Bryan Bequette administered the oath of office for two new officers at Monday’s meeting.

Dylan Lazure, 24, had previously worked in food service and hospital security in Omaha.

Lazure grew up in Nebraska City and graduate high school in Omaha in 2013.

He has a criminal justice degree from Iowa Western. His wife, Alicia, pinned on his badge.

George Horner, 23, grew up in South Sioux City. He attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln earning a degree in criminal justice with a minor in international studies. He previously worked at a Lancaster County detention facility.

He said he met Nebraska City residents while at college and his friends encouraged him to apply here. His mom, Claudia, pinned on his badge.

The addition of the two officers, raises the police department roster to 14.
