Another former Husker is headed to the Super Bowl.
With a spot in Super Bowl 53 on the line, former Nebraska running back Rex Burkhead’s two-yard carry for a score gave the New England Patriots a 37-31 win over the Kansas City Chiefs in overtime.

Burkhead also had a four-yard rushing score to give the Patriots a 31-28 lead with 39 seconds remaining. He finished with 12 carries for 41 yards and four receptions for 23 yards.

Burkhead also played in Super Bowl 52 with New England, which lost to the Philadelphia Eagles.
Nebraska All-American Ndamukong Suh earned a spot in his first Super Bowl with the Los Angeles Rams’ 26-23 win over New Orleans in overtime Sunday. With Suh and Burkhead reaching the Super Bowl, the Husker Super Bowl streak extends to 26 years.
