Free Husker hoops scrimmage at Pinnacle Bank Arena set for Oct. 24

LINCOLN — Searching for optimism in your Nebraska sports world?

The Nebraska men’s basketball team, hot off of a 22-win season, is inviting fans to a free open practice and scrimmage at Pinnacle Bank Arena on Oct. 24. At the Husker Hoops Preview, fans will be able to watch a full Husker practice, plus about 15 minutes of live scrimmaging.

Head coach Tim Miles will be on the mic to emcee the evening.

Doors open at 5 p.m. and practice will end around 6:30. Players and coaches will sign autographs for 45 minutes after the event.

Free parking will be available around PBA.

The scrimmage will come about a week before Nebraska’s first exhibition game against Wayne State on Nov. 1. The season opens on Nov. 6 at home against Mississippi Valley State.

The Nebraska women’s basketball team will hold its own fan event the day before the men. Fans are invited to attend an open practice in PBA on Oct. 23. Admission is free and the event will begin at 6 p.m. and last about two hours.

The first 1,000 fans in attendance will also receive a free T-shirt. The players will be available for autographs after practice.

The Husker women will play an exhibition Nov. 23 against UNK before opening the season Nov. 7 against Drake.
