Fort Collins, Colo. — Nebraska split a pair of games Friday to finish its stay at the Colorado State Classic.
The Huskers beat Idaho State 5-0 before falling 12-9 to Colorado State in the completion of a game that began Thursday.
Lindsey Walljasper went a career-best seven innings against Idaho State, recording eight strikeouts with four hits.
The Huskers took a 2-0 lead in the second inning as Peyton Glatter hit a two-run homer.
Madi Unzicker stretched Nebraska’s lead to 3-0 with a solo homer in the fourth inning.
Idaho State threatened to score in the sixth inning when it got two runners in scoring position with two outs, but Walljasper came through with a strikeout to preserve the shutout.
Unzicker went 2 for 3 with a home run to lead the Huskers.
Nebraska then picked up its game with Colorado State, which was suspended after the third inning Thursday night because of darkness.
The Huskers trailed 10-6 when things resumed Friday after the Rams scored five runs in the first inning.
Nebraska posted five runs on four hits in the third inning to cut the deficit to 7-6, but Colorado State scored three in the bottom of the third to pull away.
Bree Boruff led Nebraska at the plate, going 3 for 4 with one run scored and one RBI.
Nebraska was scheduled to face Stony Brook on Saturday, but the game was canceled because of weather concerns.
