LINCOLN — Nebraska cornerback Will Jackson has left the Husker football team just months after joining it, a NU football spokesman confirmed Tuesday.

Jackson, a transfer from Mesa (Arizona) Community College, was not pleased with his position on the depth chart heading into this week, and left Monday.

“We appreciate the competition Will helped incorporate into the room and we wish him the best,” a spokesman said.

Jackson arrived this summer with plans of helping NU’s cornerbacks, but, on Monday, defensive backs coach Travis Fisher said Jackson was a “slow blinker” who was struggling with the playbook.
