Nebraska junior Chase Wolinski sets personal best at Texas Relays

Nebraska junior Chase Wolinski threw a personal-best 177-0 to win the women’s javelin Friday at the Texas Relays.

Wolinski’s mark was the fourth-best in the nation this season and sixth-best in program history.

Andy Jacobs cleared 13-9¾ in the women’s pole vault. Her mark is the fifth-best outdoor pole vault in school history.

In all, Nebraska athletes competed in five meets on Friday and they achieved four all-time top-10 marks.

At the Stanford Invitational, George Kusche finished second in the 1,500 with a time of 3:43.83, which was eighth-best time in program history.

And in the women’s 3,000-meter steeplechase, Judi Jones ran a personal-best 10:33.41, which is seventh on the program’s all-time charts.

Action for the Huskers will continue at the meets on Saturday.
