Nebraska women build big lead over UNK early, cruise to exhibition victory

LINCOLN — Nebraska jumped to a 30-5 lead after one quarter and cruised to a 94-41 win over UNK in its exhibition game Saturday at Pinnacle Bank Arena.

Leigha Brown, a 6-foot-1 freshman, led six Huskers in double figures with 13 points. Taylor Kissinger and Nicea Eilely added 12 each.

Hannah Whitish had 11 points and a team-best five assists, Kate Cain added 11 points and five blocks while Ashtyn Veerbeek chipped in 10 points and eight rebounds.

Cierra Dvorak was the lone Loper in double figures with 10 points. UNK also dropped an exhibition game to Creighton 100-68.
