Nebraska wrestling prepares to open season with Daktronics Open

November marks the start of the Husker wrestling season, beginning with Thursday’s Coaches Clinic/Wrestle-offs at the Hendricks Complex wrestling room. The event starts at 6 p.m.

On Friday, sophomore Taylor Venz, who finished fourth at nationals at 184 pounds last season, will compete in the NWCA All-Star Classic in Denver. Venz, the first Husker to compete in the event since 2015, will face Cornell’s Max Dean.

The NU team has its first meet on Sunday with the Daktronics Open in Brookings, South Dakota, which begins at 9 a.m.
