Within three days of leaving the Nebraska football program, former Nebraska quarterback Tristan Gebbia reportedly transferred to Oregon State. (BRENDAN SULLIVAN/THE WORLD-HERALD)

A second Husker in a week is transferring out of the program and headed to Oregon State.

According to Yahoo Sports, NU quarterback Tristan Gebbia — who surprised Husker coaches by leaving the program after losing the starting quarterback race to Adrian Martinez — will be joining the Beavers’ program with an eye on playing as a redshirt sophomore in 2019.

Former OSU and NU head coach Mike Riley is on the staff as an analyst, although he’ll be leaving to coach in the Alliance of American Football this spring. Oregon State’s current head coach, Jonathan Smith, was a Riley disciple in college and recruited Gebbia out of high school.

Former Husker linebacker Avery Roberts transferred to Oregon State, as well.

Oregon State was a logical landing spot for Gebbia because of the pro-style offense and the fact that school doesn’t start until Sept. 20.
