OTOE – Midwest Farmers Coop is asking for Otoe County’s approval to locate up to 60,000 gallons of anhydrous ammonia west of the Village of Otoe near Highway 50.
The Otoe County Planning Commission has scheduled a public hearing at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 18, at the public library in Syracuse.
Two, 30,000-gallon tanks are proposed for the land at 2960 E Road, where Farmers Coop currently has a grain storage complex.
A public hearing is also scheduled at the Otoe County Board’s Jan. 23 meeting at 8:45 a.m.
Midwest Farmers Co-op currently maintains two, 30,000-gallon bulk storage tanks at Beehive Corner near Highway 75 west of Nebraska City.
OPPD has up to 10,000 gallons stored at the power plant and Cargill lists storage of 12,000 gallons.
