Arbor City Theatre Producing “Love Letters” At Library

NEBRASKA CITY – Arbor City Theatre is still in its formation phase, but its first production, a fundraiser for Nebraska City Tourism and Commerce, has already been scheduled.

The fledgling theater company envisioned by Jon and Donna Kruse will produce the play “Love Letters” by A.R. Gurney at the Morton-James Public Library Feb. 9 to Feb. 10.

Kruse said it is fitting to hold the show at the library.

Kruse: “It had its premier about 30 years ago at the New York Public Library, when the author, playwright A.R. Gurney went to a fundraiser.”

She said it is a small show with two cast members and runs the range of about 50 years of their friendship.

Show times are 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 10.

A reception will be held 30 minutes prior to each performance. Tickets are available at the NCTC office.

The production features Kevin and Betty Colbert of Weeping Water, who have ties to the Lofte Community Theatre. Kevin is artistic director and Betty is the music director.

Show times are 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 10.

The goal of Arbor City Theatre is to bring live, theatrical entertainment to Otoe County in a variety of settings.
