Auburn School Board Elects Officers, Hears Teammates Update

AUBURN – Joe Casey updated the Auburn School Board on the Teammates program at Monday’s meeting.

The program, which began in Auburn in the spring of 2009, currently has 37 mentor matches from fifth grade through seniors.

Casey thanked everyone who contributes their talents, including three coordinators and seven mentors from Peru State College.

He said Teammate events over the year included attending Peru State homecoming and the Christmas gala at Brownville.  An Earth Day clean up is planned at Legion Park this spring.

The program also awarded five $250 scholarships this year.

In other action, the board elected its officers for 2018 .


Ryan Jones moves from vice president to president and Michael Zaruba was elected vice president.

Superintendent Kevin Reiman was elected secretary and Kellie Fogarty elected treasurer.
