BEATRICE – Nebraska Governor Pete Ricketts was among those attending the annual Beatrice Area Chamber of Commerce Banquet, held Friday night at Classic’s Restaurant.

:26 “grow Beatrice”
The 2016 Beatrice Chamber Board Chairman, Patrick Ethridge said he’ll remember his year as chairman for the addition of Oktoberfest, the Holiday Lighted Parade and continued success of Homestead Days.
:34 “call the chamber”
Ethridge says there’s a place for everyone to help out with events. He hands the chairmanship over to Jim Nelson, who will lead the chamber of commerce board this year. Nelson says events like Oktoberfest and the Holiday Lighted Parade have so much potential to enhance what’s available in the community. He said they provide more things to do, and ways to attract people from outside the community.
:17 “to all of us”
Nelson urged people to tell the chamber what it is doing right, and how to be better.
Chamber President Lora Young says this year carries the potential to attract a record number of tourists, with event planning around the August total solar eclipse.
:38 “a great event”
Beatrice is in a pathway where the totality of the August 21st eclipse will be at its’ longest length of time.
