Beatrice High School, Middle School Locked Out, During Threat Investigation

BEATRICE – Beatrice Police took a high school-aged special education student into custody, following a threat made on Snapchat.

Chief Bruce Lang says the threat was reported to police late Thursday afternoon…coming from a 16-year-old male.

Lang says the lockout was in effect until police could located the 16-year-old.

The chief says the youth, a student in the Beatrice Public School system, was taken into custody at his home.  Other persons unrelated to the youth, were at the home at the time of the arrest.

Lang says no further precautions are being taken at the Beatrice High School at the start of classes today.

Police do not believe any additional persons were involved in the threatening message.
