BEATRICE – The Beatrice Public School District has approved a contract with a South Dakota firm to install a high-tech video board in the O-Zone gym.
The Beatrice School Board Monday night approved a contract with Daktronics, totaling $137,667.
Superintendent Jason Alexander says the lease-purchase of the system is being backed by business sponsors.

The business contributions also generate over $9,000 in each of the first five years for activities funding, at Beatrice Public Schools.

After five years, contracts with the businesses are renewable. The ten anchor-level sponsors include Pinnacle Bank, Southwick Chiropractic, Deines Pharmacy, Garnett Investment Strategies, Exmark, Beatrice Family Chiropractic, Security First Bank, First National Bank, Beatrice Community Hospital and Building Tech, Inc.
The ten premier-level sponsors of the O-Zone Vision project are the Beatrice YMCA, Jim’s Carpet, Neapco Components, Fritch Insurance, Inc., Scheer Quality Furniture, Mosaic, Wells Fargo Advisors, Gleason Dental Clinic, Southeast Community College and the Beatrice Booster Club.

Alexander says the anchor level and premier level sponsorships were spoken for, in about two weeks following a business presentation on the project, held at Beatrice High School.
