Beatrice School Board Moving Toward Administrative Restructuring

BEATRICE –  Job descriptions for restructured administrative positions within the Beatrice School District, should be ready for board approval, in February.

Superintendent Pat Nauroth says he’s been in the process of formalizing the descriptions for a somewhat scaled-down administrative structure.

One component of the restructuring includes realigning the duties of the district’s Curriculum Director, adding a new title.

Beatrice School Board member Janet Byars cautioned that with the reduction in administrative positions, the district should be careful not to grow the workload too much.

Nauroth says support staff will likely play a critical role in making sure all duties can be handled, with one fewer administrative position.

The Beatrice District 15 Board of Education has a new President.  Board member Jon Zimmerman was named to succeed Lisa Pieper, during the board’s reorganization meeting for 2018.

Board member Doris Martin becomes Vice-President of the board.  Superintendent Nauroth continues as Board Secretary and  Finance Director John Brazell continues to serve as Treasurer.  Committee assignments were made at Monday night’s meeting.

Board members approved a new farm ground lease agreement on land owned by the district.  The lease agreement with a local farmer is for $15,011 annually, or $182 per acre.  The agreement extends from March 1st of this year, through February 29th, of 2020.   The district received four bids for leasing land owned by the district.
