Blue Springs Man Lodged For 2nd-Degree Assault

BEATRICE – A Blue Springs man is under arrest for assaults on woman at a home the two shared.

A Gage County Sheriff’s Investigator arrested 37-year-old Roy Forney, after he had come to the sheriff’s office to turn himself in for a Wymore ordinance violation.

He’s now being held for second-degree assault.

According to court documents, the female victim sustained bruises on her legs, arms and torso, along with burn marks she told authorities were caused by a butane lighter.  She had also previously suffered a black eye.

Marshall County, Kansas law officers also reported that during a sentencing in that county, it was found the woman may have a broken rib.

Information contained in an arrest affidavit indicate the victim’s injuries happened July 6th and 7th…..and July 28th and 29th.

Forney appeared in Gage County Court, Friday, where his appearance bond was set at $75,000.   He’s also barred from contact with the victim.  Further proceedings are set for August 28th.
