Board Accepts Four-County Juvenile Services Grant

FALLS CITY – Richardson County commissioners accepted the four-county  juvenile services grant from the Nebraska Crime Commission on June 19.

Program Director Laura Osborne said the $87,000 grant covers services in Johnson, Pawnee, Nemaha and Richardson counties. There is a local match of $8,700.

Commissioners contracted with Osborne and Maxine Schatz to administer the grant through June of 2019.

Emergency Management Director Brian Kirkendall reviewed his office’s lease of a recently vacated ambulance and fire building in Humboldt.

Jed Fritz told commissioners he and his family will take care of the Cupalo Cemetery at a public hearing June 19.

The board took no action on declaring the cemetery abandoned.
