Boy Provides Cell Phone Recording Of Humboldt Threats

FALLS CITY – An April 3 pre-trial is scheduled for a Humboldt man accused of strangulation and terroristic threats at a Humboldt residence on Dec. 30.

An 11-year-old boy called sheriff’s deputies to report that Julian Cooper, 26, choked a woman at his house. The boy provided deputies with a 3-minute cell phone recording of an encounter between Cooper and residents at the house.

The boy said the phone was knocked out of his hand, so the screen is mostly black, with audio.

Cooper is charged with threatening three people at the residence and applying pressure to the neck of a woman who was holding a baby.

Cooper was released from custody after posting $270.
