TECUMSEH – A Brock woman is facing felony charges in Nemaha County after she was arrested three times in June for suspicion of driving offenses.
Ashley Kite, 32, was arrested June 4 for suspicion of second-offense driving under the influence . She was released on a $350 bond provision in time for her June 20 birthday.
She was arrested again on June 21 after the sheriff’s office received a report of reckless driving in Brock. Sheriff Brent Lottman told the court he arrived in the village to see Kite driving a Chevy Sonic, with its wheels spinning and the car sliding as it took turns.
She was again released on bond.
Six days later, a sheriff’s deputy noticed her driving in Auburn and reports that she ran a stop sign and traveled at a high rate speed before stopping at Auburn Discount Liquor. The deputy told the court that Kite failed a field sobriety test.
County Judge Curtis Maschman ordered Kite held on $7,500 bond, allowing her release only to attend in-patient treatment. Kite has since asked the court for a bond review hearing.
She is scheduled for preliminary hearing on Aug. 15.
