Brownville Author Introduces “Life in a Casket”

BROWNVILLE – The Brownville Fine Arts Association is hosting Preston Shires for a book reading at 2 p.m. on Sept. 16 at the Schoolhouse Art Gallery.

Shires’ book, Life in A Casket, brings to life Brownville happenings of the 1857. It depicts a fictitious heroine with hopes of establishing her own newspaper.

Shires, the fifth installment of the summer speaker series, lives on a farm near Brownville.
