ALBION, Neb. – A Cedar Rapids woman who was accused of five felony counts, including four child abuse charges and one count of strangulation, had her charges revised to misdemeanor offenses or dismissed completely on Tuesday.
29-year-old Casey Dodds is now charged with four counts of third-degree assault after an incident in April.
The records say Dodds, who admitted to drinking on April 24th, hit all four of her kids at least once and choked her oldest son. The documents say she told police she “smacked” one of her sons.
After the incident her children were removed from her custody. A representative for the children would not tell NCN in September who now has custody of the kids.
If convicted on all counts, Dodds faces a max of four years in jail with no minimum.
