David City Woman Accused of 5th Theft in 9 Years Heads to Court This Week

COLUMBUS, Neb. – A David City woman, who has already been convicted of four thefts in the last nine years, will head to court this week on another theft charge.

45-year-old Lori Dietz has been charged with felony shoplifting from an incident in January.

Records say Dietz stole three blankets and a pack of playing cards, valued at just over $96 from a Columbus store.

Dietz is charged with a felony after being convicted of theft in 2010, 2013, 2015 and 2017.

Nebraska state law allows prosecutors to charge people with felonies after three theft convictions, regardless of the amount of money involved.

She is next due in court this Friday for an arraignment.
