Dense Fog Advisory Issued for Eastern Nebraska

VALLEY, NE — Dense fog is creating gloomy and dangerous conditions ahead of a predicted major storm.

The National Weather Service has issued a Dense Fog Advisory for 27 eastern Nebraska counties. The advisories are in effect until Wednesday midday…and as late as one PM Wednesday in Dakota and Dixon counties.

Authorities report visibility of less than a quarter mile across the eastern half of the state. Officials warn that fog could obscure sections of road that have become water covered, making travel hazardous. This is especially the case in the overnight hours.

Fog may have been a factor in severe accidents in Jefferson and Gage counties on Tuesday.
