NEBRASKA CITY – Preliminary hearings are scheduled in Otoe County Court for two Lincoln men accused of attempting to steal a farm truck southeast of the Woodland Hills Golf Course.
Dillan Tangeman, 19, and Michael Resler, 18, are charged with possession of burglar tools. Tangeman is also charged with attempted theft of property owned by Craig Bolz.
An arrest affidavit says sheriff deputies were notified of suspicious activity after two males and a female knocked on the door of a rural residence asking to use a telephone.
The affidavit says, when deputies arrived, the female told them they had crashed their car and the two males were away from the roadway trying to steal another ride. Investigators say a backpack was found with tools typically used to steal vehicles.
Deputies say Lincoln police later informed them that the Mercedes Benz that had crashed had been reported stolen on Aug. 31.
