NEBRASKA CITY – Nebraska City Commissioners will meet in regular session at 6 p.m. today.

The first of the two ordinances was originally brought before the board of commissioners in the form of a request for chickens from a young girl. A backyard chicken ordinance is scheduled for third reading.

The second ordinance will amend downtown vacant building regulations. This ordinance is as effort to deal with vacant and deteriorating buildings in the downtown area.

Also, on the agenda is the discussion and or action to amend the procurement policy for the new municipal facility corporation. If passed, this would require a public hearing for all municipal facility corporation projects.

There will also be discussion and or action for financing rate options for bonds and loans for the Morton James Public Library HVAC project.
